Fundraising Officer

Do you like organizing events and meeting new people? Do you like to hang out with other dog lovers? If so, then this is an opportunity for you! The El Dorado Dog Owners Guild (EDDOG) is looking for someone who wants to be the EDDOG Fundraising Officer. EDDOG is an energetic and passionate organization needing dedicated elected members.

Description

The purpose of this position is to coordinate fundraising activities and tasks for EDDOG. The position reports directly to the EDDOG president.

Responsibilities

The Fundraising Officer is responsible for the following:

  • Identify and coordinate fundraising opportunities and present these to the EDDOG president and/or board of directors for approval at an appropriate meeting (or via email in certain cases, unless an officer or director expresses that the opportunity should go to the full board for vote).
  • Researches, plans and facilitates implementation of EDDOG fundraising strategies (e.g., business and corporate sponsorship for events and/or projects).
  • Researches and coordinates the development and implementation of select “special project” fundraising activities.
  • Researches prospective major funders and prepares and facilitates implementation of fundraising strategy.
  • Coordinate approved fundraising events and schedule planning meetings, as needed.
  • Maintains and updates records of funders, sources of funds, organizations, etc.
  • Coordinate with President, Vice President, or Treasurer to deposit all funds received from a fundraising event or other type of fundraising activity.
  • Communicate all income to the Treasurer to help ensure proper accounting is performed.
  • Collaborate with the Public Relations Officer, Volunteer Coordinator, or any other Officer, board member, or active volunteer if they have tasks to perform in support of the approved fundraising event or income-generating activity.
  • Helps prepare and manage approved annual fundraising budgets and timelines.
